Our programs are open to internationally educated dentists who received their dental training outside of Canada and are working toward — or considering — Canadian dental licensure. Applicants must currently reside in British Columbia.
No. We do not provide licensing exam preparation courses. Spread A Smile BC Foundation focuses on mentorship, career readiness, professional networking, community integration, and connecting internationally educated dentists with employer opportunities. We complement — not replace — the formal licensing process.
Our programs are 100% free for all internationally educated dentist participants. The Foundation is supported by volunteers, donors, and community partners who believe in reducing barriers to professional integration in Canada.
Absolutely. We welcome Canadian-licensed dentists, hygienists, and dental professionals who want to give back to the profession. Mentors typically commit a few hours per month and make an enormous impact on a new professional’s journey.
While we cannot guarantee job placement, we actively connect participants with employer partners, facilitate observerships, and provide career preparation support including resume coaching, interview preparation, and professional networking events. Many of our participants have secured meaningful employment opportunities through these connections.
Yes! We partner with dental clinics and healthcare organizations across BC. Employer partners can offer observerships, mentorship opportunities, and employment to internationally educated dentists. This is a meaningful way to invest in workforce diversity and community health.
